The Chorale offers its annual Halloween concert for children, featuring lively music by Copland and Handel, humorous madrigals, rounds for the entire audience to sing, and the chance for some lucky children to conduct the Chorale! Under the direction of Edward Bolkovac, the Chorale welcomes the Trinity Boys’ Choir directed by Walden Moore, student instrumental soloists, and Assistant Conductor Brett Judson as organist. A post-concert party will include goody bags for all children.

Join the Chorale, soloists, and orchestra in this annual holiday celebration featuring music of Praetorius and Gabrieli, Mozart’s Mass in C Major, selections from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, moving a cappella favorites, festive seasonal spirituals, and a sing-a-long of classic holiday favorites amid the glorious acoustics of New Haven’s beautiful St. Mary’s Church. Even St. Nick himself has been known to appear at this lively event!

The Chorale welcomes distinguished guest conductor Edward Cumming, the Hartt Symphony Orchestra, and the Hartt School choruses for a spectacular performance celebrating three great modern masters, Bernstein, Debussy, and Poulenc in the reverberant acoustics of majestic Woolsey Hall. Maestro Cumming will conduct Leonard Bernstein’s boisterous Chichester Psalms and Claude Debussy’s exquisite La damoiselle élue. Chorale Music Director Edward Bolkovac will direct Francis Poulenc’s stunning, exuberant Gloria, with renowned soprano Rochelle Bard, along with a few short 20th-century surprises.
